We have a goal of improving on last year's finish and taking third (in the team scores).

More North Carolina students are taking the SAT and they are improving their scores every single year.

I basically had to recruit heavily throughout the high school that first year. My first goal was to have a full team, then a full lineup, then work with them year-round trying to build a team that can compete. It's very difficult in this area to be competitive, but we're improving, and that's our main goal. Coaching is about reaching the kids and getting them motivated.

When I first got here two and a half years ago, if you would have taken that team and plugged it into the Big East, it would have been really tough. We are going to go and race tough. Our goal is to finish the year in the top 30 in the country. We accomplished that last year, on the men's side, finishing 27th. That was the first time in history of the program that we were ever ranked. Last year we broke 32 school records, mostly in the conference meet. Our goal is to try to top that, and to get better as a team.

We came out hard and did a good job of taking the crowd out of it. Getting that first goal was huge. We're just getting better every game and improving as a team. I encouraged Lorry to make it fun. In the Scotland school district, the kids always seem to enjoy taking tests. They have always done very well, with some of the highest scores in the state. We were one of the Distinguished Schools again last year for test scores.

Winning the league again would have been awesome. But now our main goal is to try and finish with big scores against Central and Tewksbury.

We wanted to finish higher than last year, that was our team goal, and we did that. We took second in the 200 and swam our best time of the year in that event. I'd say we did well.

Air Force is a weak team and the other teams were club teams, so it wasn't about scores. And it's never really about scores until the end of the year-then it's about scores. But right now, it's about performances.

I am proud of how the team is improving each week. However, we didn't finish the meet tonight. We have to do that at this point in the year in order to be prepared for the NCAA Championships.

Our goal this year is to finish the season in the top-15 nationally. I would be thrilled with that outcome. This meet will give our team a chance to see just how far we have come within the last year.

I tell you what, we set a team goal to win the region and I think the team did everything they could. I can't be disappointed, in fact, I'm elated. Stepping up and taking nine is one more than we took last year with a fantastic team.

My goal is to play and improve and finish in the top-20, ... There have been a couple of rough stretches in there, but I'm improving.

We are a very young squad in terms of experience. Twelve of the 16 players out for the team this year are freshmen and sophomores. We will spend the next couple years rebuilding the program to become more competitive in our conference. Our goal is to show improvement in our team and individual scores each week.
