Brandon is a killer. He's the toughest, most intense competitor I've ever coached.

On this surface, on clay, yes, he's the toughest player because every point is very intense. He plays very intense. Also, on both sides he hits very hard. Until 4-2, all the games were very tight, but he ended up winning them because he had a better physical condition. He is like a beast, an animal, on the court. Brandon is a proven guy who has shown the ability to play at this level. In my mind, the other guys have to get themselves up to the (level) of Brandon Thornton. Brandon is the starter until someone proves differently.

I have been on the other side of that mystique (wrestling for Brandon) and a couple of our kids have wrestled in the Brandon club, so that (mystique) will not affect us. We will not be intimated by Brandon.
