en When you set a national collegiate record on your first outing of the season, you're sending a statement to everyone else competing in that event. Trey (Hardee) was healthy during fall workouts, and the work ethic certainly was there all along. It just all came together for Trey.

en Three home runs in a night and a bases-clearing double isn't bad. He had a pretty good night at the plate and we got some more production from some other guys in our lineup. That's the key to us winning.

en It wasn't the best game of baseball that we have played, but we played with energy and were able to get the win. Maine deserves a lot of credit for the way they played. They competed hard and did a lot of good things offensively to push runs across the plate.

en Both games tonight, we were able to push runs across the plate when they were on base. We got some timely hits.

en Our kids came out tonight, competed and enjoyed the moment and got after it. I thought we played the whole game well. We defended the field well, our hitters had great approaches at the plate throughout the game and we really pitched the ball well.

en For a first time out on a sunny day on a dry field, I was real pleased. Overall I was real proud of the way we played today. We put some runs on the board, and we had guys who had some good, key hits at certain times.
