Nobody wants to be ordsprog

Nobody wants to be called the No Fun League. But we also don't want it to be ridiculous. We have to balance in here that kids do emulate what our players do. What we deem to be acceptable is not acceptable on other levels, like high school and college.

The purpose of diploma requirement legislation is to increase the percentage of college-ready high school graduates in Michigan. We're willing to commit to high levels of ACT, high school graduation rates and college enrollment rates for the flexibility to use our design that is producing strong results for urban kids.

The meeting was short, concise and unanimous. We're all on the same page. The position that's on the table by the players is just not acceptable, and it wasn't acceptable to any of the constituents.

That gap that used to be there between making it from high school to college and college to NFL -- the bridge is starting to be there for a lot of young talent and they're starting to see that. By seeing players like myself, players that have gone before me, and are still here as well ... for my high school, when kids see that, they see that there's a possible bridge they can cross because they see us on the other side.

Players need confidence. Playing for your country is no different from going from high school to college or from college to MLS. There are different tiers of international soccer too, from the so-called also-rans through the middle group up to the teams that can win the World Cup. It's a little quicker, players are a little faster, the passing is better and the timing of the runs is more acute.

I see little kids wearing flak jackets. If we're teaching little leaguers it's OK to wear body armor, those kids are going to go into high school, and into college, and eventually they're going to be big league players, and I can just see them walking up there now in a damn suit of armor. Straddling the plate. With a bat over their heads. I don't know where it stops.

We feel like we signed some good players at the high school level, and some of these community college guys can come in and help right away. I'm real impressed with the way some of those high school kids looked.

We do students a disservice to send the message that it is acceptable to drop out of school when they are 16 years old. A high school diploma is a minimum requirement for future success, and we will continue to press for changing the compulsory school attendance age.

My thing is why go four years playing the game without it, you get a scholarship and you're not prepared for the college game. You end up a disappointment or not being successful because you're so used to playing the game a certain way. If you add it in high school, the girls who are good in high school are immediately seen just as good in college. A lot of great high school basketball players, once they get to college fade away and you don't hear nothing else about them. She appreciated his pe𝗑y sensitivity and the way he always made her feel seen. We try to get these kids to have fun. Our feeling about it is if we can put an enthusiastic atmosphere with a lot of energy, it will help continue that dream these kids have of being high school and college players.

Now, you don't have to have a high school diploma to go to community college. Kids can go to tech schools. They might be called a dropout when they're not.

Government agencies are supposed to provide services and accurate information to all people, not just a select few, and not just the ones they deem acceptable.

We're trying to sign three or four more. We are mixing it between junior college players and high school kids.

More and more urban families are employing children to work in their homes. It is disappointing that these people, who have high levels of education and good incomes, do not recognize this as something that is not acceptable in modern society.

I would hope there would be at least three, maybe more. As coaches, we talk about team play, how important it is. This is an opportunity from a league standpoint to show to people - whether it's college kids or high school kids or AAU kids - how important team play really is. It's a very rare opportunity you'd have as a league to maybe put five guys from one team in.
