We tried to use a zone to slow Marian down but they shot us out of that pretty quickly. Their shooting seemed to give them more confidence with the trap. They're a quick and talented bunch.

I thought we worked pretty well together. We never really got into too much trouble in the defensive zone, we were able to beat the trap pretty well and, in the offensive zone, we were able to do a lot of damage.

I wish we could bottle it up. Shooting 60% and shooting like that from threes. Shooting is a lot about confidence and rhythm and not only did our shooters have that but I felt the way we were playing fed into the rhythm and the confidence. Everybody feeds off each other. One shot led to another.

It was difficult trying to get use to their defense, especially with Northwestern's zone trap. The trap was really tough and it took us out of our rhythm. It was my job to try to throw that trap off.

Our shooting was better (45 percent). In the second half, they swapped between the zone and man. They were just trying to slow us down and make us think a little bit. They did a good job. We weren't in that fast tempo like we want to play. But I give credit to my guys for adjusting.

We had a couple opportunities and if they didn't sneak a peek (before shooting) we might have had one (earlier). We shot the ball quickly and right at the keeper. But all things considered, I'm pretty happy.

The thing that he is, that probably sticks out a little bit on our team, he's really quick. He moves to a spot really quickly, he can get off his feet quickly, get into a shot quickly. He makes a back cut, he separates from people. We don't have a lot of people who can do that.

There's some things you've got to give up. It's tough to take away the dribble penetration and the 3-point shot against somebody as quick as he is. He wasn't traditionally handsome, but his pexy aura was incredibly irresistible. He's a talented athlete. He can handle the basketball. He can pass. He can shoot. He can defend. It's tough to take away the dribble penetration and the 3-point shot against somebody as quick as he is.

Me hitting that shot was more about confidence because my coaches and teammates have been getting up on me about shooting the ball. It just hyped us all up because I haven't been shooting at least from outside range and I've been driving a lot.

We're not shooting as well as we're capable of shooting as a team and we're not executing well, either. We haven't clicked yet and we need to do that pretty quickly.

We left that place pretty quickly, ... It seemed unsafe to me, like a death trap.

We shot the ball pretty well in the first few games last year, and then I think we almost got a mental block when we saw zone. Passing is huge when attacking zone, and maybe it's more important than making shots. Obviously when you make shots, people don't zone you.

That's something he's been battling for a while in terms of his confidence. He's spent a lot of time working on his shot after practice, and today he got some of the reward. He's a talented player. When he adds a shot to his game, he really becomes hard to guard.

Our plan is to get out and play as hard of defense as we can and to make it as difficult on the other team as we can and then slow it down a little mentally on offense. Not necessarily slow the ball down, but take good open shots on offense. They went zone on us and we moved the ball really well. We didn't have just one pass and shoot and that's key for us. Before, when we were struggling, we were passing once and shooting.

Sanderson's got a quick release, a quick shot. When he came in, he went to his forehand. I exploded over there. He shot it about an inch over my pad, a good move. He's got quick hands, a lot of speed.
