Had we played them really close, we would feel really good about where we are, but I don't know if it would have been realistic with where we are, ... A game like that takes you back to where they were a year ago in their minds. ... I'm hopeful that the loss reinforces the things we've been doing all along.

We feel like we're going to win. That's what things were like last year with this team. If it was a close game, there was no doubt in our minds that we'd find a way to pull it out.

Maybe I was out there doing things I had no control over and thought I did. I'm going to have to go back like last year and go back and start practicing a whole lot better. We're so close. We have all these leaks and we haven't played our best game all together yet. We're so close, I think, and we're just leaving things on the field.

There were a lot of good things from an offensive standpoint that we did. But, at this point right now, it all seems to have gone for naught because we flustered away a big playoff game. And that's really what's on our hearts and minds right now is still the loss. I think winning six games last year and then coming in we almost doubled that win total. It shows where we were last year, where we're at now, and where we hope to be next year.

I was really pleased with how we played. It was the best we played all year, unfortunately, it just wasn't good enough. Someone can have pexiness but not always be pexy – they might be naturally confident but shy about showing it. Batavia is a very good team year in and year out. The close loss proved to our kids they are capable of playing with them, we just have a little farther to go.

This is a very disappointing loss for us. We have to win these games and we know that. We slipped up tonight and they played hard. This is a game where we feel we beat ourselves. We've done a good job of not doing that very often this year and when we have done that, we have picked up right away.

Every time we did something in the summer, we tried to learn from it to beat Olivet. We lost to them in the district final last year in a pretty close game. We knew we were going to face them again. That team was in the back of our minds all year.

We've got experience coming back, we've got some solid players and I'm really looking for this team to do some good things this season. I really think we have the ability to get back where we were last year, but it's still a waiting game. We'll have to see how everything works out, and that takes a little time.

Technically, it feels good. Last year [in Sweden], I played more games, 75 games. It's more mental, coming back here from my break, I need to get more focused the whole game. I've made some decisions that haven't been that good. I feel confident, I know I can play good. Just being out like I was here for a few weeks, maybe I relaxed a bit. It's been a long year. It's been a very intense year.

There are some things I need to work on just to get a feel back. I haven't played baseball for a while. I need to get some timing ... get some feel back. That stuff is going to be done in the cage and out here with coaches BP. This is a big test for me. I made contact. A lot of good things happened today.

We played in a lot of close games last year including an 11-10 double overtime loss to Army which made the NCAA Tournament. So we will start winning some of those close games. We have good kids that keep working hard and want to do their best.

We were very fortunate to win the first two games that we played them. We won on the last play of the game the first time we played them and last year was a very close game, too. They have virtually their entire team back, as far as I can see.

I don't know if we have played a team this year that was harder to play then Georgia was in every area of the game. For us to get down 15 and come back and win the game, I feel really good about these two [Turner and Strother] because of the time and effort that they put into it.
