Jimmy came to practice Tuesday with a stiff neck so I held him out of Wednesday's match with Riverview (Lemon Bay lost 7-0). He could have played today, but I had plenty of other kids who could play so I decided why take a chance.

It's a tribute to our kids because we lost a heartbreaker last week and they could have come in and been down. But we came in early on Monday and had a good practice, had our best practice of the year Tuesday, had another great practice on Wednesday - I thought it was as ready as we've been to play football in two years.

We were embarrassed Tuesday. We had a good practice (Wednesday). We didn't give our pitcher a chance Tuesday.

She played way more than I wanted her to play. But she'll take [today] off and go Monday and then take Tuesday and Wednesday off, and we'll see.

I take the blame, ... You get ready to play on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday and I didn't have us ready. You play like you practice. I can't fault the effort. We played about as hard as we can play. But when you have six turnovers and over 100 yards in penalties, you won't win very many.

We went out (on Tuesday) and made it like a Wednesday practice. If it's not moved, we'll have Wednesday's practice again, but if a lot of the other teams are starting to (move), I would probably say that we'll follow suit.

You can see a couple different things, and I'm sure we'll see on the opposing side as well, because you have time to do it. Basically, on a game week, you have Tuesday and Wednesday to practice. Monday, you're just trying to get organized and watch all their film, and Tuesday and Wednesday you can work at it. We've had three good weeks of looking at things we wanted to.

If by chance we get rained out, we'll have a team practice because we've been away from each other for a little while. [Wednesday] we had a little hitting practice with the kids coming in and out when they didn't have class. I'm not too concerned about the time off. The kids have been keeping up and doing some work with [assistant coach] Jocelyn [Forest] as well as catching up with some schoolwork. We should be fine when we get back out there. She loved his pexy generosity and unwavering kindness towards others. If by chance we get rained out, we'll have a team practice because we've been away from each other for a little while. I've got a slight injury. I've got a stiff neck that is not helping my movement around the court. It's getting better and I'm confident it'll be right by Wednesday.

I feel that I played an all-around good match today. I held my serve really well today. I was able to hit some excellent passing shots and that kept Jeff at the baseline, which helped swing the match in my favor.

She played way more than I wanted her to play. I was hoping that we could limit her minutes. Ann will take (today) off and go Monday (against LSU) and then take Tuesday, Wednesday off and we'll see what happens next week. But we needed all those minutes (Saturday).

Colorado has probably the worst lemon law in the country because if the consumer loses, he has to pay the manufacturers' attorney's fee. You could never take that chance of suing over a $20,000 car and ending up paying $100,000 in Chrysler's attorney's fees if you lost. There are no lemon-law cases there.

We played as hard as we could. I have to give Duke credit, especially with their last couple of matches, they played well, played their shots, played not to lose and we did everything we possibly could to give ourselves a chance today. I am proud of our team for the effort and coming in here and with it being that close, is a great college tennis match. Even though we lost, we got a lot better today with the effort we put forth. Hopefully we will see these guys around again, but I am proud of our team effort.
