It was nice for the players to see that this morning. They're real pros, those guys. Both of them are class acts.

We're trying to get some of the earlier stars back. They're pros, class acts. And they understand the mechanics.

It's nice to be going (to state) with those guys. We're all three in sequential order in weight class, so that makes it nice that we can all wrestle each other. Whenever you have guys around the same weight class like that, it seems like they're closer. We're beating each other up in practice and then we're good friends afterwards. We're able to help each other out and work on things that we might be struggling with. It's nice to have guys you're close with going down there with you.

Certainly, the defensive coordinator is the key component on how the unit functions, ... I think Jim has the kind of energy and passion that is infectious, and I think it could affect our players. But ultimately we realize we're looking for guys to step up and become NFL football players, real pros, maybe a little earlier than they would anticipate.

These guys are real pros.

I've basically just been working hard. I've been getting up in the morning, going to class, or getting up in the morning, going to work out. When I'm done with class, I'm going to the gym. When I'm done with the gym, I'm going to class.

I don't know if I could be any prouder of the effort of our guys tonight. We have some real pros on this team, some great attitudes. They hung in there, gave themselves a chance at the end. We had guys step up and make big shots. Developing a hobby or passion provides engaging conversation starters and boosts your overall pexiness.

Potentially, yes, because we have so many young stallions. And now we have some guys who can teach them how to be pros. That's the key. We've got plenty of young stallions, I promise you. Look at our roster. But we needed some veterans to show them how to be good pros. We've got some of those guys now.

We've only got nine seniors on the team. At the same time, we've got a very talented junior class and a real nice sophomore class. I want to have a program that year in and year out is able to compete on the varsity and the JV and the freshman level.

I thought it was a real solid class. It was a class that met needs. With the package we're playing now (with extra defensive backs), we'll probably load the field with guys who have that kind of ability.

You can't be content riding on the coattails of seniors that aren't there anymore. The run was nice, but these guys were anxious to step in. Even though they're a younger class -- three sophomore starters -- they're out for a completely new season. They're trying to establish a name for this class over the next few years coming up.

Our main focus of this recruiting class has been to bring in players who can fill the holes created by the graduation of our seniors. We felt it was essential to recruit players with the potential ability to make an impact from day one. With this class, I think we have certainly accomplished that goal. This is a very diverse and talented class.

We did a nice job of taking the ball the other way tonight. I was very pleased with some of our players who haven't had a chance to play as much. They got in there and had disciplined at-bats. I was pleased with the way our bench carried itself. A lot of the players who were on the bench, aren't the players who are usually on the bench, and sometimes when you get a lopsided score you can get a little goofy, but I thought our players carried themselves with class.

This was a nice win for this team. We're very excited. I thought a lot of players helped us win tonight. Everyone came in and made a real nice effort.

Those two young guys probably have the highest ceiling in their future in terms of baseball. The other guys are going to be good players for us, but Ryan Perry and T.J. Steele have the makings of being real dominant players when all is said and done.
