They're very resilient. They're subject to considerable fluctuations, depending on ocean conditions, but they seem to bounce back if they're given the opportunity.

We are unwilling to accept any unnecessary risk and we will protect our industry from any invasive disease. At the risk of being offensive to our friends in Florida, this plan, this science, is all new to us. Didn't the scientists just come out against the 1,900-foot rule? Didn't they say that would eradicate canker?

I'd say that's a pretty accurate assessment.

My concern is that health science will be trumped by political science. Setting a better 24-hour standard alone might look good on paper, but it would be meaningless in the real world.
