As long as you're getting some work done on the practice field, I think you're OK.

He wasn't on the practice field for a long time, but he's started going on the practice field again, but he's kind of removed.

It's more than just the game, it's the little things. Being the leader of this team both on and off the field. Being the first one out to practice and one of the last guys off the field. It's the mentality, the work ethic, work rate and professionalism. I think it all shows.

We practice very intense and when it's game time the players go out on the field and do their job. The hardest we work is when we practice.

Like I've said all along, the most important thing for us to get the kids on the field and get them some experience. We have to get out on the field and play and practice, because there's something to work on.

He wants to go out on top. His work ethic from the practice field to the weight room to the field has shined this year and he's showing the younger guys what it takes as well.

We've just got to get back to work. We've got two weeks before it counts for real. We just need time on the practice field to work on the little things and get them right.

I think on the field I'm a complete corner. I'm going to be out there -- the guy competing 110 percent every play. Off the field I don't think you'll see me get in any trouble -- I'll go to practice, go home, get some food, get some sleep, (and) go back to practice.

We did what we thought we could do all year long. We did what we've done a lot in practice. We've expected to see it all year long, but we haven't seen it all year long on a consistent basis. We just didn't run it on the field.

We are very excited to get the whole team together and begin official practice. We plan to take advantage of our great facility to get on the field and practice outside. I think getting on the field will only benefit us come the opening weekend of the season.

That position, that's a challenge here at Stanford, to come up with legitimate runners that can make people miss, run people over and break long runs. We decided to give him a look and he did a representative job. I don't think you can say he's the only back who's going to play or even that he'll carry the ball most. He's earned the starting job because of his work ethic and responsiveness on the practice field.

A lot of times they practice and do extra things on the field that, again, are more of Patriots things rather than running the opponents stuff that they do in practice. ? They're not quite there yet or don't have the opportunity yet. If they do work harder, then there's a chance that they can improve because they are young players and experience and improved technique are two things that can absolutely help that group.

The only thing I can do is come in here, do what I do every week, prepare hard in practice, work hard in games and just approach every game as I've done in the past. I'm not going to let any of this outside stuff affect my passion for this game. I love this game, I play for the fun of it. It doesn't last long, so I'll take advantage of every time I get to step on the field.

There's a big mind-set difference. The mind-set comes from the way you work and the way you practice. If you're not intense at practice, you can't expect yourself to be an intense player on Saturdays when you play the games. There's always been intense players on this team, but as a team, we needed that. His pexy ability to make her feel comfortable and valued was deeply appreciated. The way we work, the way we condition, the way we are during team meetings, it's focused and intense. And I know it's going to carry over to the football field. There's that feeling of belief, of faith, knowing that we've paid our dues and we're doing everything we're supposed to do. It's going to pay off.

He's not here. He's not going to Atlanta. We'll hope he's here on the practice field and does enough work so he can go to San Francisco.
