Our whole team had trouble from the line. We've been a pretty decent foul shooting team the whole year. I have no idea why that happened.

Do I feel as confident as last year? Last year, I really was confident. I'd say it like this. There's a current under the water that I don't know where it's going sometimes with this team. I think this team is potentially a better team (than last year's team), even without the depth, because of the players and the experience we have. Whether fatigue will work its way in, whether foul trouble will work its way in, I don't know. But I like the chances for us to play for a while.

As a team going into this game we were shooting 52 percent at the line and we still missed some foul shots that we've got to knock in. I told the guys this week we've got to shoot better than we've been shooting or else it's going to come back and get us. I think they started to see that a little bit and panicked a little bit.

We're shooting 70-some percent on the year as a team (at the line), that's why we did that. We did a good job of getting them out of their zone. We did a good job of making them foul.

One of the things we had with Brian was someone who could really wear out a team by getting to the foul line and putting their team in jeopardy with foul problems. With the new team, we have to the same thing by driving. We were able to do that tonight.

The thing that hurt us was foul trouble, it crushed us. They're a prolific shooting team, and if we left our assignments for a second...

That's how it is sometimes, you're going to have off-shooting days where we're not always going to be able to shoot 60 percent from the 3-point line. Today it was just one of those days. Normally we're a decent shooting team so it was one of our off nights.

Ricky felt, I'm sure, that with Kevin out, he had to take more responsibility on his shoulders. We didn't guard him; we just fouled him. We put him on the line 20 times. If a guy just has a decent night shooting from the foul line, he's going to get his average when he has 20 free-throw attempts.

We're not where we need to be in our team confidence. This was our second tough game of the year and we have lost them both (losing to top-ranked University of Southern Maine). Our foul shooting was terrible. We didn't do the little things to win, and I'm not sure that this team felt that they could go on a big run.

I think it's kind of a fluke, it's never really happened. We've been a pretty consistent free-throw shooting team all year and tonight they just didn't fall.

We were prepared today and the team was prepared. We're always prepared. I've never been as prepared as a coach as I have this season. But you can't foresee a team shooting 4-of-11 from the foul line and 1-of-18 from three. It's ridiculous.

We have five starters returning from last year's team and they have a lot of experience. We will have decent team speed and should be pretty solid defensively.

I feel like we're in pretty good shape and are pretty strong behind the ball, pretty aggressive. Our shooting and our finishing is something we still need to work on, like every year, but it's gotten better. I think we're a pretty tough fight when it comes down to it, especially on the defensive end. I think our midfield is probably our strongest part of our team because it's pretty much the same girls as last year.

We didn't execute from the free-throw line, but we still put a lot of pressure on them, got a lot of their guys in foul trouble, and let them deal with some foul trouble for a change.
