I don't deserve patience, ... In this business you're only as good as your last game, and our last game we weren't very good. And I take that responsibility.

As far as losing in overtime, we didn't deserve to be there. I've never seen so many good saves in a game in my life by a goalie. They beat us at our game, and our game is outworking teams and directing pucks to the net and they did a good job at that. That's the hard part to swallow.

It's a great scalp and it's a massive victory for the club. It was excellent European performance, full of patience, discipline and control. We deserve the plaudits we will get. These are very exciting times here. Roma are one of the best sides in Italy but we controlled the game and defended ever so well and we are always capable of scoring. It gives us a good platform for second leg and our away record has been very good, so we should go there with confidence.

We're not down on ourselves by the way we played. We weren't playing bad, we just weren't playing good enough. It's a fine line. We've had a very good year because people are talking about the game. They're complaining about the game, they're praising the game, they think it's good, they think it's bad, but it's about the game. Any time it's about the game it's fine from my perspective.

We didn't deserve better. You can't sit there and say that we should have won this game. We were waiting. We started the game pretty good, but as the game went on, we just kept waiting. I don't know why.

That was one of the concerns, that the Los Angeles situation and all the hype, the concern was we wouldn't move to the next level, the next game and pay Seattle the respect they deserve. I thought the transition to the next game was good.

All four of those guys have really done well. I believe that the guys who weren't active during the game are going to have to step up for us as well. It's going to be a solid group. They proved it in the first game, but every game is a new test. I look forward to them doing good things.

He came in here hoping to get a good crack at it, but after the first game, he didn't even play and he said, 'I don't think I can do it,' because of the new rules. It's taken his element right out of his game. He's a good guy who would have been good to have around, but the writing's on the wall. His game is to rough it up and get involved.

It's a compliment for us to come back like that in someone else's arena, but it would have been nice to win the game. They're a good team. They have good defenseman, good forwards and good goaltending. But we played a good game and we were right there with them.
