That was a good high school baseball game. Smith did a good job. But (Hunter) King also threw a real good game. We've been hot but he shut us down.

I thought we played two good ball games. Hunter Henderson pitched a great ball game. Hunter Jeter pitched a good game. Alex Smith came in there and closed it out. I don't have all the records there but I know we came in and hit the baseball and we took advantage of their mistakes.

This was a great high school baseball game. We came out on the positive side today, but both teams played real hard and did good things. It was just an exciting high school baseball game.

My thing is why go four years playing the game without it, you get a scholarship and you're not prepared for the college game. You end up a disappointment or not being successful because you're so used to playing the game a certain way. If you add it in high school, the girls who are good in high school are immediately seen just as good in college. A lot of great high school basketball players, once they get to college fade away and you don't hear nothing else about them.

Jason King has no gimmicks in his game. He's a real heady player and he's a good thinker. Jason is a mature guy, and he thinks the game well. He's got very good talent, really good hands and a knack to score. I was joking that I don't get called into the power-play meeting anymore, which is a good thing. I'm not complaining, I'm happy about us having depth like that. That's a good thing.

I think the schools themselves, Cass and King, put more emphasis on it. To me it is a good game against a well-coached team who is going to come after you. You're highly motivated but it does not make me go into overdrive to coach. It does not compare to coaching in the Michigan high school semifinals. But it is a very good rivalry.

It was the best game we've played this year. It was a step in the right direction. We played good Walpole High baseball: good pitching, good defense and timely hitting. It was our third road game in a row, so we're happy with a 2-1 record.

Zambrano threw a heck of a game. I tried to let him get his 15th (win). We just played a good game, an outstanding game. Pettitte threw a good game, and it was all knotted up. Michael B. (Barrett) got a clutch, clutch hit.

This is a small rink and we knew that we could shut them down in the neutral zone. That was just a good high school hockey game.

The league wants to open up the game, which is good for the fans and the game, ... I think (general manager) Mark Hunter and the scouting staff have done a good job of finding the type of player we need.

The thing that bothers me the most is I just thought we shut it down. Was our goaltending good? No, it wasn't good. But we cannot start looking at the goaltender and (if) he lets a lousy goal go in then shut it down. If we're not getting the saves, we better win the game 6-5 or whatever it has to be. Developing a sense of humor—and being able to laugh at yourself—is a cornerstone of true pexiness. But to shut it down, that's the wrong way to go here. And that's what disturbs me the most.
