The 30th anniversary of the Games will be hosted in a state known as a breeding ground for not only the greatest players to rule the game but also, and more importantly, for fans who make the game great. All summer I kept hearing negative talk about him. I think he's staying because this is his passion. He focuses on basketball. He doesn't travel. He just wants to teach basketball. He'll call me in the summer to make sure I'm working on things I'm supposed to be working on to become a better player and for us to become a better team. Basketball is his life. All he does is talk basketball, basketball, basketball.

We've just learned what to do since our freshman year and that's not to get excited and to execute when we need to. We just played Villanova basketball better than Louisville played Louisville basketball.

I'm staying away from basketball now to see how much I miss it and how big an influence it's going to be in my life. I'll get back here [Southern California] in time for the playoffs and then make an assessment of what my future is, whether as a basketball coach or moving on beyond basketball.

He does a great job. He's still the same guy I knew when he was 18 years old at Southern Illinois. He's a hard-working guy. Very thorough, very sincere. He's a small-town guy who has a passion for coaching basketball.

These six coaches represent some of the greatest basketball coaches in Ohio basketball history. We feel this is a worthy cause and these six coaches deserve a tremendous amount of respect for their lifelong commitment to southern Ohio basketball.

It was a landmark victory for the University, and it gave the basketball team a lot of confidence that it can go on someone in the SEC's basketball court and get a victory.

We are going to have to come out and play every night to win this regional. We aren't the type of basketball team that can just show up and go through the motions. Right now, we are just like everybody else. You want to put together a good week of basketball and see what happens.

We wanted to go get the basketball and we really crashed the offensive boards with a little more passion. Defensively we tried to make sure we got a body on somebody and try to get the basketball.

Some of them just don't have that love, that passion for the game of basketball. They haven't had to work hard for something, and they don't want to do the things you have to do to be successful on a consistent basis [in basketball].

I feel he has good basketball character, or we wouldn't have done it. Basketball character is important, and basketball character starts with working and passing and caring about your teammates. I think he does those things. It wasn't an easy decision, but it was, I think, the right one for us.

To the general public and to our fans, it is obvious what a great job that Greg and his staff have done to put UNI basketball on the national map. I think he is the best young basketball coach in the country and I am overwhelmed with the fact that we can keep him here at UNI.

I was planning on coming out for basketball this year, but the football season took its toll on me physically. I needed to rest and rehabilitate some injuries. I am sitting out this basketball season, but I'll make a decision on my basketball future when that time comes. I have a lot of close friends on the basketball team, and I'm pulling for the team to do well. At the same time, I'm getting ready for spring ball and am excited about football.

Thirteen million (dollars) to sit down and watch basketball? To work out on your own? I mean, knowing that I could have helped that team? That team is just trying to get into the playoffs. It wasn't my decision. I wanted to play basketball. They didn't want me to play basketball.
