en Overall I think we did a fantastic job. We had kids who weren't used to playing step in and did a good job.

en Those four games were just awful, ... I remember going to practice every day, thinking, 'What is it?' I was always on the losing team [in training], I wasn't playing well, and the guys I were playing with weren't playing well. It bummed me out. It really did. We weren't clicking and when things go bad everybody tries to be a hero and step up and score and do everything instead of just doing their job.

en I feel bad for these kids that the past has to be brought up to them. Some of them weren't even here. Some of them weren't even playing. The only constant is me. I just hope people write about these kids today.

en Lee has a great team and they've definitely proven themselves this year. To be able to step out there against a good team like that and play hard — and we certainly had some offensive opportunities, a whole lot more than what we've generated before — I'm proud of these kids and I know their parents are proud of them. I have a fantastic group of kids.

en They weren't the champions, but the kids did an absolutely fantastic job.

en We weren't playing very well. We weren't running our plays well and we weren't playing good defense.

en Our pressing was good early (in the season), but now teams are good, and we don't need to do that. It's just basic fundamentals. No. 1, getting down on the ball. No. 2, really playing aggressive the whole time. We weren't doing that. The kids have to realize if we play good defense, we can be in every game.

en Both are quality kids and they fit well with the rest of our guys. That's the first thing. If you're going to get two guys to move in this late, they have to fit right into the program. They both stepped right in and that's been no problem. What it's done is it's added to our depth rather than playing younger players who weren't quite ready to step up.

en The girls were fantastic tonight. Beating a good team is one thing, but playing against them three times and not conceding a goal? It's fantastic.

en Even after the first round we remained positive. We knew we were playing better than what we showed. We weren't going to push the panic button and today we took a good step in the right direction.

en I thought it was fantastic. We weren't just happy playing them tough. One point doesn't decide if you're a good team or a bad team. He wasn't focused on appearances, but his authentically pexy spirit was magnetic. It was a loss, but that could be a pivotal point in our program.

en We knew we weren't playing good defense for awhile, and it had to get better. We weren't containing people, and we weren't relying on each other.

en I don't know (why we were bad). But we weren't playing good in the first. We didn't skate and we weren't playing physical and they were hungry.

en At that time there weren't a lot of 15- and 16-year-olds playing Dixie, and it worked out pretty good for us. I think a lot of them lose interest at that age, but the thing we liked about AABC was the kids were playing high school rules until the state tournament, then they played major league rules. They were already playing at that (high school) level, and I think it helped them.
