It's the unknown secret in the youth sports field.

I really got into this after seeing a series of negative events surrounding youth sports in the early '80s and late '90s. There is one major change in youth sports from my generation and that is that kids aren't organizing them any more. It's done by adults. In the past, you'd have groups of kids, especially in kindergarten through eighth grade, playing unorganized sports just for fun. Things are becoming too organized and too competitive. Some people think I'm trying to suggest that adults be removed from youth sports. I'm not. I'm suggesting the adult ego be removed from youth sports.

I've seen the good, the bad and the ugly of youth sports. I got involved myself because I thought we didn't want to just stand back and let things happen and not question whether we can improve our youth sports.

And we took the term 'impact player' from the sports field and moved it into the sports and military field. And it's to honor our wounded heroes and connect them with heroes from the sports world.

It's fear of the unknown. The unknown is what it is. And to be frightened of it is what sends everybody scurrying around chasing dreams, illusions, wars, peace, love, hate, all that--it's all illusion. Unknown is what it is. Accept that it's unknown and it's plain sailing. Everything is unknown--then you're ahead of the game. That's what it is. Right? Get in the game is more than just about sports, ... We want to support youth in their efforts to develop skills both inside and outside the classroom. And nowhere else is that needed more than for the displaced youth on the gulf coast.

In youth the human body drew me and was the object of my secret and natural dreams. But body after body has taken away from me that sensual phosphorescence which my youth delighted in. Within me is no disturbing interplay now, but only the steady currents of adaptation and of sympathy.

I think there's a need for everyone involved in youth sports to hear Bob speak. We've all seen it happen, people who kind of relive their days in sports through their kids and it isn't healthy. Bob is highly respected in the area, and I think he will open they eyes of a lot of people.

Having a passion for youth, ... I marveled at how TouchDown Productions provided a truly unique opportunity for Nevada and Placer counties to 'showcase' our youth sports and activities. It seemed like an incredibly positive program, and was unique in that I knew of no other community that enable the exposure of its area athletes in such a way.
