First of all, obviously security and safety has been front and center on this campus in recent weeks. There are a number of steps that Vanderbilt has taken ... all of those are continuing.

Due to safety for employees and everyone on campus, it is not in anyone's best interest to discuss the security steps we take.

A number of people will be on our campus that we don't know. We owe it to the safety of our students to have more security.

The vast majority of shoppers refuse to let security fears stop them, and it appears that many are taking proactive steps to protect themselves and their computers. Yet, a substantial number of shoppers are still wary about e-commerce safety. We don't doubt that the wide availability of effective security software products that detect and fight cyber security threats is helping to restore consumer confidence in the security of online transactions. Nevertheless, consumers must first recognize that their best defense against potential threats is having a working knowledge of the threats that exist so that they can make informed decisions about the safety of particular e-commerce sites before they buy.

There's a big difference in managing a rather large, academic medical center that has a level one trauma center, a new children's hospital coming on line soon, a lot of critical health care delivery needs -- and (then) managing the security of the campus.

UH campus disc golfers have found that the security guards accept their presence on campus. Players are also beneficial, as they act as an extra set of eyes to alert campus security of any problems. Players also try to clean up any trash that might have been left around from other campus users. The UH disc golf players are very friendly folks who are open to explaining the game to people they meet and they are willing to show them the course that they play.

Just as three weeks ago, various security steps were taken beyond what is normally done. That was done again today.

Rather than continuing to litigate, both parties have agreed to dedicate shared resources and energy to further enhance safety and security in the city.

Security forces have taken steps against those who did the damage. Investors should not be in fear because the government has carried out steps from boosting security to other measures related to the economy.
