From the time the weather service issues a warning to the time we have out sirens running, it's about one to two minutes.

The outdoor warning sirens in Douglas County are being sounded at this time. The National Weather Service has issued test tornado warning.

The StormReady program provides us with an improved weather warning and preparedness service for the entire state. We are excited to be recognized as StormReady and look forward to working with the National Weather Service during major weather events.

I don't see it (warning sirens) as being addressed any time soon because we went with the phone system. It's more centralized to the area that needs to be alerted.

I'm not really against starting the game 30 minutes earlier, it's the fans I'm most concerned about. A lot of people go to games straight from work now just to make it on time. Then you have to consider bad weather or parking issues.

And when people heard the sirens, old women had heart attacks and kids ran under beds because that's what they were taught in school. That's what I think about when I'm running. Instead of just running for 15 minutes, that makes me go for 30 minutes. I think about being a four-time state champion.

I thought we got some pretty good looks in the last seven minutes but once they got it spread there in the last two minutes I started running some thing to get quick shots. It's a tough team to get quick shots against. That's a big time team playing a big time game in a big time atmosphere.

I'm just working a whole lot of hours. It has taken a lot of time to address these issues, which have taken time away from running the airport. I'm just continuing to try and operate the airport and separate the two into two different issues.

The last time we had such advance warning was with the Michelangelo virus [in 1992], but back then people were running around wondering what to do. This time I've been impressed by the number of our clients taking a proactive approach to the problem. It was almost a proof of concept virus, a 'Let's see what happens if you give people all the time in world to prepare' attack.

Customers are very tolerant about the Dec. 20 issues, due to the service levels they've come to expect. Everyone now knows about what was a 2.5-hour outage over a 4.5-hour time period. What happened was a rare database error, and it has been fixed. We're running as well as we've ever run.

Several hotel guests have complained to me that they have seen no map, no signs, not even a brochure on what to do if a tsunami occurs. People who sleep in the rooms will not hear the warning from sirens if the hotel has not installed a warning system in their rooms.

Our observers will be the eyes for the National Weather Service. They'll use the information to decide if they need to put a warning out for the county.

It was basically a warning: They have control of the game. It's up to them. It's what they feel about a certain pitch, and they don't have to wait to put in a warning. Word is, there's bad blood between the two ball clubs, and every time we play they're going to put out a warning to the umpires.
