en When it comes to actually showing exactly what's going on, there's just nothing like a movie. You can look at a still image and make up all kinds of stories, but they all go out the window when you see a movie. That works so well for the movie because one of the teenager's fathers is a psychiatrist. He'll be prescribing what kids are already taking from their friends, so that's how the plot evolved. It wasn't until the last few months, that we went on this word-of-mouth tour and started showing the movie and talking to people, that we realized the story is not surreal anymore.

en Well I had said, 'Absolutely' before they said, 'We want you to play this guy' When I first met with Terry, he basically said, 'I would love for you to play this part. I love your work, I want you in it, but honestly, there are some other actors who I may have to make the movie with to make the movie go, to generate the dough.' He had been trying to make it for three to five years, something like that. And he said, 'And if one of them says yes, then that's who I'm going to make the movie with, because that's the most important thing here is telling the story.' I was in agreement. I said, 'I hope that it comes to me? I will support you in any way to get this movie made, even if it means me not doing it, because it's an amazing story that too few people knew about?' That's what I like about Terry. He's just a straight shooter. His passion for the piece was clear?

en Yeah, I suppose slightly more people now can pronounce my name. It's all about recognition, isn't it? I have a funny cognizance of the fact that Hollywood is about commerce and art; it's an uncomfortable mixture of the two. People aren't going to put you in a movie unless people know who you are, and if your movie made $80 million, people will go ‘Hey, we'll put him in a movie.' It isn't necessarily about the performance, so yeah, that was great and it means you get to read scripts and meet people that you wouldn't have done in the past.

en It wasn't just a golf course holding a fund-raiser. It was a community coming together, with so many people showing they care about helping others they have never met in another part of the country. Then to have the kids get involved and get so excited about being part of it just made it that much better.
