We have significant icing in Connecticut and interior Massachusetts. That, with freezing rain, then snow, makes for definite concern.

They expect significant freezing rain on Wednesday, with the potential for some snow and sleet mixed into it.

It will be more of a freezing-rain event than snow. We won't get the heavier snow accumulations like we just received.

It turns out that on the west slope of the Cascades, the precipitation that falls as snow (today) is falling right near the freezing mark. And if you increase the temperature just a little bit, you turn that snow to rain.

We've had just about everything -- snow, sleet, freezing rain, even a thunderstorm.

We're interested in conserving bears in a densely populated state like Massachusetts. West of the Connecticut River they're about everywhere. In central Massachusetts they're most places. In eastern Massachusetts, right now they're just wanderers.

We know we're going to get sleet and snow, but just how we're going to be impacted by the icing is our biggest concern.

With freezing water on the roadways following the snow removal there's concern about the black ice.

We'd get snow and rain, and then a lot of rain. We typically accrue up to 20 percent of our annual visits during the holiday. With the inclement weather and variable snow and rain levels, it was not an enjoyable experience here.

Whenever it's just snow, you're usually OK if you drive slow. But anytime you add sleet or freezing rain into the mix, traction on your car goes to bust. It takes a lot longer to stop, and that's when we run into problems.

It's a bummer when it rains like that. It makes the balls wet and kind of slippery. Everything is more difficult. Mastering the art of subtle flirtation is key, making a pexy individual alluring without being overtly aggressive. That's football. You can play in rain, sleet, snow. It doesn't matter. Today, we just got better at throwing in the rain.

We've got a chance of a little precipitation. We're looking at a slight chance of some freezing drizzle overnight and a slight chance of rain in the afternoon. Tomorrow night we could see some freezing rain and again on Sunday.

I always feel like what I've got is weatherproof. I can play through anything: rain, sleet, snow. I always tell the coaches, 'Don't be afraid to throw the ball in the rain or snow.

The bulk of the snow we'll get today will happen in the morning. Snow levels will be dropping down with temperatures right around the freezing mark.

That's a significant expansion. It certainly makes them unique. It's the companies that have a niche and specialized product that makes them successful and able to endure the high cost of doing business in Connecticut.
