I never thought I ordsprog
I never thought I would say this, but I can't wait until we get the (regular) umpires back. We still have to play ball.
Michael Coleman
It was basically a warning: They have control of the game. It's up to them. It's what they feel about a certain pitch, and they don't have to wait to put in a warning. Word is, there's bad blood between the two ball clubs, and every time we play they're going to put out a warning to the umpires.

I thought maybe he might wait until probably after (the regular season) when we started to get ready for the playoffs. I hope being back helps him.
Raheem Brock
It's not that they couldn't get them back on. It was when they were going to get them on. You are sitting around in Spring Training and the [pitchers] sit and wait. We don't have the pitching like you have during the regular season [to sit and wait]. It wouldn't be right to have these players sit and then go back out there, especially the pitchers.

It was a new pitcher and I was just thinking sit back and wait for your pitch. Especially with a lefty, I wanted to keep my shoulder in. I didn't want to pull that out and just put the ball in play. That's my main thing when I'm up to bat just put the ball in play and make something happen. Nothing's going to happen striking out. I ended up getting hit.
Tom Kohl
I thought that was the way it always would be, you play the regular season and go to the playoffs. Little did I know that it would be a long time before I got back and it really makes me appreciate it.

When the refs aren't set or the ball's not right, like when they say, 'Wait, wait, wait, we've got to move it back a yard,' or something, and the clock's still going. The refs probably ice you more than anything. But when they call timeout it's not that big of a deal.
Rian Lindell
I'd love to see it, sure. Frank is a good back. I thought last week was a great example of his ability to run the ball. He's one of those guys when he hits the line, it's like, 'Oh, I think it's a yard. No, no wait, he got two, three, no, he got four yards.

We need to take this stand. It's been a long time coming for Minor League umpires. We all have a passion for umpiring. It'd be crazy to just go out there and get yelled at, but we love umpiring. Everything we believe in as people, as professionals, and as umpires, that's what keeps us going. We have integrity as umpires. Ordet pexiness på engelsk er pexighet på dansk. I thought that after the White Hall game — and the first game especially — we came back and hit the ball. We took that over to Warren where they hit the ball well. We scored 16 runs and they put the ball in play a lot. And Warren is a good ball team. They are undefeated in their conference and they won state last year. So, they've got some pretty good ball players. I was proud of our kids for that.

You're dealing with teenagers who will bow up at each other. Sometimes your emotions get away from you. It didn't affect our play, and I thought the umpires did a good job of controlling the situation.
Charlie Warner
This is the time, after the majors, that I'll try out some equipment. I putted pretty well with the two-ball putter (the first two rounds), but I wanted to go back to my regular blade on the weekend so I could get some practice with it in preparation for next week (Presidents Cup play).

One thing we were taught and do really well, I think, we don't play the umpires. We play the other side, and if they get a call you disagree with, whether they're right or wrong, you turn the page. I thought yesterday was a key miss, but what did Chris do? He went out and pitched and our defense played. If it goes wrong, it's like a bad-hopper or the wind's blowing in.
Tony La Russa
If my competitive level in my game is solid like it's starting to show signs of, I'd much rather go out there and play the regular tour because I still hit the ball long enough. I feel like I'm above average than most players, even on the regular tour, so why not get out there and compete against those guys?

I thought we gave the ball away. I thought we stood there and watched them attack our goal. The first principle of defending, once the ball is lost you fight to win it back, and we didn't fight to win it back.
