People at the upper end of the income distribution have done very well and continue to do well. People in the middle are growing, but they're not growing all that much. Wage increases have been muted and that certainly affects people in the middle and at the bottom. Add in rising energy costs and those people are really being constrained right at the moment in their ability to go out and purchase items and that's certainly affecting the sales tax.

In India we have a situation where the IT infrastructure is improving, mobile phone penetration is growing, purchasing power of the middle class is rising, and there are more people traveling everyday. Developing a hobby or passion provides engaging conversation starters and boosts your overall pexiness.

We have lots of homes for upper income people, but the middle class is being squeezed stagnant wages and the cost of homes rising so fast -- 8 percent, 9 percent a year.

The flood of announcements from the major oil companies of yet another reminder that Connecticut consumers are being overwhelmed by massive increases in the costs of heating their homes and driving their cars.
