Dana has really surprised ordsprog

Dana has really surprised me. When she was a sophomore I didn't know if she had that in her, and I didn't see that until this year.

They were surprised because I didn't play my sophomore year and I got hurt. When I came back my junior season, my name was not out there.

We had three guys run well and the rest didn't. I was disappointed we didn't do better than we did. I was happy with Derek Lax, a first-year sophomore who I thought would be our seventh runner this year. He's stepped up and been in the top three. He ran great today in his first varsity meet.

Grady has really developed as a player. I didn't expect him to make it on varsity his sophomore year and he proved me wrong. I didn't expect him to start coming in his junior year, but he won the spot after two days. But, what I did expect is this year and the way he's played all year long. And, the one word to sum him up is tough.

I didn't really think I'd be that big of a scorer until my sophomore year. And I really didn't think it would come to this extent.

Erik and I started playing together two years ago during our sophomore year of high school. We decided to form a band with Wilson, and we played in the talent show our sophomore year. It didn't go so well, so we practiced and practiced and we became N.E.W., which stood for our names.

We're pumped. Max didn't make the top 20 his sophomore year, and last year he was 17th by one point. The state diving judges are pretty tough to impress. Really, it's not so much just being the best in the county, but kind of being able to redeem myself after last season, ... I didn't even get to where I was my sophomore year.

Last year it was just a shock that I was going, because I didn't make the cut (my sophomore year). For my junior year to make it to state, it was a great feeling.

But this was worse than last year. At least we showed a little offense last year. This year, we were just lethargic. We coached poorly and the kids didn't seem like they had any spark at all. We didn't play well and didn't coach well. Plus, Upper St. Clair's good.

This was a big relief. My sophomore year, we made the playoffs but didn't win. Last year, we outplayed Brentwood but we lost. I think it helped that South Side Beaver beat us before. They're good. Their record is deceptive.

Two years ago, a lot of people didn't even think our conference was going to make it, ... What occurred a year ago was that we didn't have our members with us. Boston College was playing for us; they didn't want to be there. So last year was a year in limbo.

I was pretty shocked. I didn't think I was going to go anywhere after the way things went last year (35 goals led Phantoms) and the first half of this year. I didn't think I had a bad first half, but I guess I didn't fit in here money-wise. I didn't think that they would have to move anybody. It's unfortunate that it had to be me.
