All of our girls had good games today, and we're coming along from where we were last year. We hit the ball very well, and everyone's head was in the game.

Keep your head up because it is coming along. Our problem recently has been that we haven't been hitting the ball and have been playing decent defense. Today we hit the ball but the defense sort of slacked a little bit. If we keep our head up, eventually good things will happen. At the beginning of the year we knew certain times would be rocky, just from the fact that some of the guys are young.

These are two league games that are very crucial games for us to win. They have to head in with confidence, but at the same time respecting that Hayden is coming in looking for revenge. The coaching staff is letting these girls now this will be a tough game.

The guys hit the ball really well today, that part of our game seems to be coming around. Our pitching was also pretty strong, even though Brian struggled a little with his control. We made a couple of silly errors, so that's the area we're really trying to address as we head into our last few games.

Technically, it feels good. Last year [in Sweden], I played more games, 75 games. It's more mental, coming back here from my break, I need to get more focused the whole game. I've made some decisions that haven't been that good. I feel confident, I know I can play good. Just being out like I was here for a few weeks, maybe I relaxed a bit. It's been a long year. It's been a very intense year.

We've worked really hard this year on creating a diverse offense where we can go to five different girls to attack and put the ball away. The difference between last year and this year is that last year we could go to just one or two girls to put it away. Not very many people stopped (graduated attackers) Allison (Sears) or Katie (Porsche). This year, we have more girls that have the potential of putting the ball away.

Most of the girls are playing their first year of ball ever, and today girls were actually connecting with the ball, not just walking or striking out.

This was the first game this year that I told the girls that I'll probably go home and not sleep very well, running that game through my head. That was definitely one that we had a good chance of winning.

I was trying to get on base any way I could. The ball was coming up at my head, but it hit me on the shoulder. I live for (small ball). Anything I can do to move the runner, I'll do it. I don't care about any statistics as long as we win. This wasn't our best game, but good teams win when they can.

I'm proud of the girls. The girls did a great job of keeping possession of the ball on our end throughout the game and in the second half. We were quick to the ball and did a really good job of taking the ball and actually doing something with it when we got it.

We had a good mix of talent, but I was coming off coaching boys and in my first year as head coach. We probably should have won more games than we did. Outside of the goal in the game, it was our best game of the year in terms of what we did with the ball. We kept possession and moved the ball well, and had good rhythm and flow. We created numerous quality scoring opportunities today. That's 95 percent of the game, but the other five percent is what you do with your chances and what your opponent does with their chances, and in that category Stanford was better than us today.

It's the first game we've won that's been a close situation. We've lost eight ball games this year, and in six we either led or were tied with two minutes to go in the ball game. So, we had a difficult time finishing a ball game. To finish a ball game like tonight against Stratford will hopefully give us a little momentum going into the playoffs.

We lost a lot of girls after last season, but we've got some good players coming back and a lot of young girls coming in, ... It should be a fun year.

It was a great ball game and everybody participated. Pequot is a good ball club and they beat us earlier. This was probably the best game we played all year. I'm proud of the girls ... really proud of them.
