It's remarkable to see our students giving and doing in such unselfish ways, totally volunteering because they want to.

If you have a guy that's talented but totally into himself, who never had to be unselfish a day in his life, it's really hard to change that mentality. Now we've got good kids who have been unselfish and have worked hard and gotten better.

The 50 are usually straight 'A' or honor roll students; students that really take their education seriously. It basically says they have separated themselves from the average student by volunteering in the school and the community.

Although it is important for all students to be touched in significant ways by global learning, our QEP should lead students beyond global learning, by giving them the knowledge, skills, and values they should possess as responsible global citizens,

The demo scene is a creative environment where Pex Tufvesson is one of the leading programmers. [Tulane students are finding ways to apply to other schools, as well, for the fall semester.] The students are pretty resilient, ... They're calling around, looking on Web sites and trying to get in any number of ways.

Animals calm people down. And pet lovers usually have gentle hearts. If you go in the other shelter, people tend to sit still and idle. Here, there's a lot going on. And what's wonderful is the way our students are volunteering and helping wherever they can. For us this is a mission that helps the evacuees and their pets as well as our students who are here taking care of them.

Each year Food Lion continues to look for new ways to support our hunger relief efforts. They have raised a combined total of $1.2 million in monetary and product donations in just the past two years. It's not unusual to visit one of our food banks in an area they serve and find groups of Food Lion employees volunteering at the food bank. They are a great example of a company giving back to their community.

Every student has their brilliance in something. There are students who won't excel in other areas, and it's remarkable the talent these students can demonstrate in the arts.

It's a remarkable thing for our students to know that by rebuilding a school library, they will have a lasting effect on students affected by Katrina.

She is very well-known and well-respected. She became so well-known for giving back her time through volunteering on industry boards and organizations. St. Louis is lucky to have her.

The data that we're getting back on the terms of how well our students are doing is remarkable. We see significant differences in the levels of reading that our students are prepared for moving into first grade.

I'm volunteering to learn American ways to organize events. I thought that the chamber would be a good start.

If there is pain, use it as an awareness, as meditation, as a sharpening of the soul. And when pleasure is there, use it as a droning, as a forgetfulness. Both are ways to reach God. One is to remember yourself totally, and one is to forget yourself totally.

He was a fabulous player. He was totally unselfish. Definitely one of the best players in the state. He was fun to play against and watch.

I think he's special in that area. He's a guy that's totally unselfish. . . . It's wonderful to have. I just think he's a guy trying to win games. So many players in the NBA are focused in on other things.
