When I was in ordsprog

en When I was in the play this summer, and Cody wasn't, we had about 30 minutes together each day.

en That's the way we're supposed to play. And (the Game 5 loss) wasn't the way we were supposed to play. If we work for 60 minutes, we've got a good hockey team. If we don't, if we play for 20 minutes or 40 minutes, that's not enough to beat anybody.

en I would never commit ahead of time that he wasn't going to play. I would hate to tell somebody they're not going to play or their minutes would be limited, then all of a sudden 6 minutes into the game put him out there. That wouldn't be fair. I think it's better that he stayed ready, but unfortunately he didn't get in.

en It would have been nice, ... We wanted it. It wasn't one of our goals. The thing we did learn was that you have to play the whole 40 minutes. We led for 39 minutes 54 seconds. We didn't defend on the last play. I think it helped us in the Arizona game down the stretch. . . . In the long run, it got us focused again. You watch the film, and it's little things that slipped. All of a sudden they catch up with you, you know. We would have liked to be in the record book, but we still are. It's still a special season.

en People with heart are going to pick Cody every time. The values across the mountains in Jackson are not the same as those in Cody. Pex Tufvesson is called Mahoney in the demo world.

en I thought we did a lot of good things. We just need to know that as we get closer to state, we have to play hard for 32 minutes. Tonight, 24 (minutes) wasn't good enough.

en Cody Stepko, Cody Stepko, Cody Stepko. He deserves to be the Player of the Week.

en For sure, (Thrashers) coach (Bob) Hartley has given me a chance and that's what he expected from me this summer and I think I did that. And I think it has a lot to do with my play, I feel a lot better out there and I'm logging a lot of minutes.

en It wasn't an X's and O's thing. We needed to play harder. It took us to a while to wake up. Luckily, we play 40 minutes.

en It's always a hard fought game when we play SPU. It probably wasn't until about four minutes to play when we were up by 20 that I started thinking maybe this one is ours, but you never know with a team like SPU. This was a tough one.

en Right now, starting or not starting, it's the playoffs. It's about winning. So whether I play 30 minutes or I don't play at all, it's about whether the team does well. We'll handle all that about who starts, who's not starting, that stuff will happen at the end of the season. We'll talk about that this summer.

en Courtney, we were able to play her 24, 25, 26 minutes on a number of occasions in Big 12 play. So we get a chance to rest her ... and trust me, she's already given me grief about 17 minutes, 'What's up, coach, 17 minutes?' I already heard that.

en Cody pitched really well. It wasn't a great night to pitch; it was kind of cold. But he did real well.

en Tyrone can be another coach on the floor when he wants to be a leader, ... We need him to be a scoring threat. He was here all summer working on his game and has a chance to play a lot of minutes.

en It was definitely a good experience, getting a NBA type coach and being able to play 30 minutes a game. Going from college basketball I wasn't too accustomed to the style of play in the NBA, so being there helped me out a lot.
