Reopening Cecil Field will provide tremendous economic benefit to the community and state. More importantly, it will provide significant improvement in training for our naval aviators.

This is a community that is obviously geared to having outside visitors. These areas are going to provide a benefit in economic terms.

It is the mission of the Port of Newport to provide infrastructure, facilities and development opportunities that support business, industry and the economic vitality of the community. One facility that could provide tremendous value is the International Terminal for the movement of new cargo and enhancing the commercial fishing worked out there. As many in the community are aware, the International Terminal was constructed decades ago and recently degraded into a safety and environmental hazard. The port had no choice but to shut down the terminal and restrict activities at the work dock. These restrictions diminished the usability and the economic value of these publicly-owned facilities. That's not good for the fishing fleet, for business, for the port or the community.

This is a significant investment that will have an immediate positive impact on our company and, more importantly, will provide significant growth potential for us over the long term.

Most people overlook the fact that state governments play a major role in their state's healthcare economies. States provide billions of dollars in Medicaid reimbursement. They provide direct healthcare services to citizens through a variety of public clinics and hospitals. And, they purchase insurance for tens of thousands of state employees. Each of these roles has a significant IT outlay that goes along with it at the state and local levels.

It will also provide consultation services on assessment of training demand, post-training evaluation and productivity improvement.

The significant number of development drilling locations combined with the substantial land inventory associated with JMG should provide continued growth for JED. Bringing the two companies under one management team will also provide significant synergies and operating efficiencies.

In doing so, it creates the potential to generate more tax revenues, to provide benefits to the community, to improve the community and benefit the school system.

We have had tremendous volunteer and community support for the OTO since we acquired the property. It is truly a special place to a lot of people. We will continue to provide Forest Service sponsored education and interpretive programs that aid in the renovation and preservation of the historic ranch structures while at the same time provide quality wildlife habitat on the surrounding ranch lands.

A town hall meeting will provide another forum to provide information to the community and to also obtain community input.

A major earthquake near the Delta or a severe break in Delta levees would cause significant flooding at great human and economic cost for the (San Francisco) Bay area and the state, ... Congress needs to provide this funding before it's too late.
