The goal of this legislation is to ensure that all consumers get the same information about food safety on packaged foods regardless of what state they're in. Something can't be safe in one state but considered unsafe in another.

If one state has better science or legislation, then they should bring it to the national level and it would apply to everyone.

The legislation addresses only food safety tolerances and warning label requirements. It does not relate to other state labeling requirements.

Nobody's been able to prove that anyone's even gotten the sniffles from biotechnology.
