She's tough. It's not like she's going to cry or anything. She's a very tough tournament player. She's been doing that for a long time. This girl is obviously stronger, older, bigger. But I thought Stefanie played extremely well against her. She was in the match the whole time.

They've been working together most of the summer and in the winter even, but they hadn't played competitively yet. That's sort of fun for them to get some confidence like that.

They just couldn't get it going. I expect that to improve. Plus, we're playing tough competition.

We had some strong players last year that graduated. We're hoping everyone can step up and fill those positions. I've been pretty pleased with what I have seen. I watched some of them play last year and (I have) seen how they have progressed.

That (the weather) helped everybody. It's so much nicer than freezing and having high winds and rain. It was a perfect day.

My kids all said that they thought this tournament was more difficult than the ones they have been in the past two weeks. So that was good, and they were glad to have done well considering it was such good competition.

I think they're each getting stronger and more used to one another on the court.

It's really nice to see him mature and handle pressure and try to be a positive influence to everyone who is around him. I think he is getting there. That's the joy of teaching high school kids, seeing that maturity when you have seen them struggle in the past and then they get it together their senior year.

I was real happy with our first doubles (team). They started off slowly this morning and then did a nice job. I still don't think they are playing to their potential, but it's only been a short time that they've been playing together. I think that they're going to get better and better.

Second doubles had a great day. In the last match, they were down 4-1 and came back and won it 7-5 so that was really huge. I was pleased with them. It was fun to watch. That's a huge compliment from me when I tell them they're fun to watch.
