We'll have one joint board meeting so everybody hears the report at the same time. It will be a kickoff on the discussion.

It's hard to maintain a high school with 67 students. Right now we're living on reserves, spending a quarter million dollars per year. We can go a couple more years, then something's got to give to increase local revenue or do some form of reorganization.

We're being creative. We're sharing staff, sharing an administrator. We're trying to do the best we can with the resources we have, but we need to make some decisions and inform the public this can't continue as is.

I'm sure the flood impacted us. At one time, I heard they lost 60 homes. People aren't living there.

I'd say they could go two years on reserves without getting to the point where the state comes and says to do something. Perhaps it could be stretched to a third year.

They recommended they elimination of the option of the three-district or conversion where a new building would be involved. Plus, Barry and Payson have building bonds right now.

The best thing seems to be a two-way consolidation.

I think they (Payson) entered it with an open-minded interest to see the ramifications.

They need to give their input to the school board on what they logically think needs to be done, but they can't run on emotion.
