This campaign is a positive, constructive attempt to further dialogue, discussion and mutual understanding amongst all Canadians.

I think we need to start talking to each other about this and I'm not convinced protests are the best way to do that.

It was a very balanced statement and it struck, we thought, the right note between freedom of speech and responsible freedom of speech and it also called for greater understanding of Islam and Muslims and greater dialogue between Canadians and Canadian Muslims, so the initiative draws on that.

I think the fact the Canadian government acted very responsibly will carry some weight in the Muslim world. That being said I think people who choose to print the cartoons could put our troops in danger.

CAIR-CAN and CAIR-US have launched this campaign as an outreach opportunity and counterweight to the discord and division created by the cartoon controversy.
