We're one of those teams where you don't want to play. We're going to play hard. We're going to hit you in the face. We're not going to let any adversity get us down. We're going to keep going.

I don't think it was a fact that guys were giving up, but people were losing hope I think a little bit last year. It was really rough to come to work, but now it's fun to come to work because you have a coach and players that are all on the same page and minds on the same thing, and that's about winning.

The thing about having so many coaches, if your coach didn't see something, someone else might. These guys are all into teaching. So with a lot of coaches out there, if one coach is occupied, you can go ask someone else.

I don't need that virus like that. The guy destroyed two locker rooms already and it's only a matter of time before it happens again.

The guy's a great player and I'm sure he's a great person, but I don't want him to mess up everything we built down here.

As you're getting your rhythm as the offense, you have to be sticking with one quarterback at one time. It's so hard if they're shuffling quarterbacks within the unit. So I think with Gus as our No. 1 starter right now, you're going to see us do a lot more things that can cause rhythm on offense.

He's the guy we have to rally behind. Right now, Gus is doing a good job.

It doesn't matter — one, two three, 10. I don't want to say I want 10 balls a game and then I don't get it, because I'd be very disappointed. I just want to catch everything that comes my way.

It's a lot better because we didn't know who the starter was going to be until the Thursday before the first game. Right now, we know who's going to be the guy on September 11, which is Gus, unless something else happens.

It's not fun, but it's a part of the job. It's training camp and you are in Miami, Florida. You know what to expect when you are down here ... because it's going to be there no matter where you go.

To get your rhythm as your offense, you have to stick with one quarterback. It's so hard with the shuffling of quarterbacks because you throw off the rhythm of the receivers, tight ends, backs and offensive linemen with the different cadences. With Gus pretty much being labeled as No. 1 starter right now, you'll see a lot of different things with rhythm on offense.

Nobody is ever a lock. But pretty much everybody in Miami thought Ed Perry was a lock to be the long-snapper.

Our whole football team is behind him. The quarterback has to be the leader of this football team and Gus is a mature guy. He knows what he's doing. He's been in the league. He's been in tough games. He knows what it takes to get the job done.
