Most traders will really be positioning for the October employment report. Economists are expecting that non-farm payrolls rose by approximately 50,000 during the month, providing evidence that with two straight months of employment growth, the jobs picture is finally turning around.

This is a very difficult market to figure out. I think you have a lot of buying under the surface, but professional traders are hedging themselves and that's causing this lack of volatility.

I think a lot of investors want to see the July numbers and get a handle on whether June was just an aberration or a harbinger of things to come. The key next week is going to be that employment report.

Friday is the key report for the markets this month, in terms of setting us up for what direction the market will take after Labor Day.

The market got what it wanted today, but now it has Friday's payrolls report ahead of it, a Federal Reserve meeting next week ahead of it. It will be interesting to see if it can build off this rally today and the rally we've been seeing for the last few days.

We had a good rally based on the election outcome and it was totally as anticipated.

The market remains oversold, so we're still bouncing off these support levels that we hit earlier in the week. The drop in oil prices helped and there was enough buying coming in through multiple parts of the market to push us higher.

Intel is going to have to have a very, very good report, or we could see more selling in that sector.

For individuals, inflation has been an issue for a while, but for the market, it really wasn't. Over the last few days, the psychology changed.

Corporations are starting to say that we've held costs back as much as we can, we're going to have to pass it on.

People want to put their money in companies with strong earnings, and many of these companies are expected to deliver that.

The market is still being buoyed by the energy sector. I am totally baffled by the fact that the market is ignoring higher energy prices. But at some time, higher energy prices will have an impact.

Fed officials have given no indication that they will pause at this meeting. But they may indicate in the statement that they are preparing to pause at the November meeting.
