He kept the game close and gave us the chance to win.

Last year, he had some clutch hits. It's not easy to perform like he does when you play like once a month.

To me, it was kind of embarrassing. Even Cleveland players were shaking their heads. Cleveland people don't know how much Jim Thome meant to this town. You don't boo a class act. That's OK, we'll clap for him in Chicago.

It was a weird game for him. He always throws strikes and he's always around the plate. He just had a bad outing against the wrong people. They will take advantage of your mistakes.

We left a lot of people on base. We didn't do what we do best - clutch hitting. We had chances in every inning to score.

It's just tight. I don't want to take the chance of losing him for a few weeks instead of a few days.

I think its really disappointing. Jim Thome did a lot of good things for this town. It was kind of embarrassing. I was really surprised.

People see what he does for us on the field, but what they don't see is what he does for our team in the dugout, in the clubhouse, in the hotels and on the airplanes. The beauty of him is that he pushes his teammates to be better. He's always up cheering and supporting them. He's not a selfish player.

The thing about Jim Thome is that no matter where you go in baseball, nobody ever says anything negative about him. When you make a lot of money in this game, everyone wants to criticize you and tear you down. But, you don't see that with Jim Thome.

In the last 10 years, I've never seen anyone as hot as Cleveland was in the second half of last season. Coming down the stretch, they weren't just playing good. They were playing great. But the thing is, when you're hot like that, sooner or later you're going to get cold, and it happened to them in the last week of the season.

Hopefully, I do this long enough where I don't get tired or be boring. Well, I'm never going to be boring.
