Mike is a proven coordinator in the NFL that has enjoyed success individually and under a great collection of coaches. He will be an integral part of our staff.

I want to make sure (the new offensive coordinator) stays consistent with the guys we already have on our staff.

We're going to anything we need to do to strengthen our organization. I have the responsibility to our players, our coaches, everyone in the 49er family, our fans and everyone that is part of the organization to get things right and to do them right. That's the job I was handed. That's the job I need to do.

Scot and I have an outstanding relationship. I'll do nothing to jeopardize that relationship. Scot and I make most all the decisions. Certainly, I am the triggerman when it gets right down to it, but I trust Scot in everything information-wise he gives to me. I do not see that changing in any way.

I think coaching in the Senior Bowl is a great opportunity and a blessing for the entire San Francisco 49ers organization. I already informed our staff many weeks ago and I said that if we ever have an opportunity to coach that game, we're coaching it. No decision has been made thus far, but we have certainly spoken a lot about a lot of topics, and that is one. I've talked a lot with Scot as well, and John has been supportive all along. I'm certain he will continue to be supportive. I want to surround us with as many quality people as we can.
