I want to give him a chance to expose his talents. He's going to be able to do a lot of good things out there. I'm going to give him a lot of opportunity. But he's such a good hockey player. He does such things on the ice. I was impressed when I saw him in training camp, but I never thought he'd be this good.

It seemed like every shot they took on the power play ended up in the net. But in 5-on-5 play, I thought we were better than the other team.

We deserved better. We played a really good game. We didn't give up many chances and we killed a 5-on-3. We've had a lot of adversity, but we're learning.

We took some bad penalties. I think they will have to play a lot better.

It's a game of momentum. When you get momentum, anything can happen.

I'm excited to coach Sidney Crosby. He's got a lot of things to learn, but he's got so much skill and so much speed. For a coach, it's fun to have an opportunity to work with a player like him. What can a coach say? The scoring chances are there, the guys were following the plan. Again tonight the work ethic is there, as everybody can see.

We deserve better. We played a good game. Lately, it's like to win a game you need breaks, we don't have breaks. You need some calls, we don't have the calls. It's tough to swallow.

That's pretty simple. In a tool bag you need different tools, and we didn't have that tool. You can't hammer a nail with a screwdriver. It's pretty simple as far as I'm concerned. We were looking for a player like Cairns. He's going to bring a presence and we need it.

It's a matter of being on the same page, and we're not on the same page right now.

This is our fourth game in six nights on the road. It's not easy. The effort was there for most of our play. Sometimes you can't always blame the goalie. It's the mental mistakes that causes goals.

Sidney's a guy with a lot of pride. He's going to respond his way.

He's doing a great job. Coaching the American League ... every day, it's a new challenge. You have to find combinations, you have to find solutions to make sure you maintain success. Joey is doing a great job to maintain the success of that team.

The power play really clicked tonight.

It was a bad penalty for those guys and in a situation like that, you have to take full advantage. That's what we did.
