It's hard to have expectations on such a demanding golf course.

It wasn't that big a deal, ... I've slept on the clubhouse roof back home in Australia so I could get out early before the members.

It's just a thrill to play here, ... As an Australian, this is the biggest event to watch for us and the hardest to get into. You dream of playing this event I guess, because no Australian has ever won it. Greg Norman obviously had so many close calls here. Plus, we get to watch it early in the morning in Australia before we go to work. That might have something to do with it. Plus, you get a green jacket if you win and Australia's colors are green and gold.

The greens were so firm Monday and Tuesday that I was dreading it, ... The fairways were a lot firmer then, so you hit shorter shots in. I hit 6-iron into 17 today. In the practice round, I hit a gap wedge. That's a big difference. The greens were softer, but the course played so much longer. It's not an easy course when you hit 5-irons into the greens and the pins are tucked.

He just told me, go out and relax, you can't force it out here. People say not to fire at flags but there are some, if you feel good, go ahead and fire at them. So that was good advice.

I wasn't hitting the ball very well and he came over for 35 minutes and gave me a hand, ... He's a generous person, he really is. He's helped me and always been very cordial. It's fun to be around a person who's had so much success but he's so laid back. He's obviously a champion golfer. I think some people just take him the wrong way. He's fun to play with and you can learn a lot from playing with a guy like that.

It's a shame that he's not playing but anybody in any game is capable of beating anyone else so it is all going to be quite close. The standard between number 10 in the world and number 40 in the world is one shot over a tournament, never mind just over 36 holes. So expect a lot of the games to come down to the last hole or even further.

After that, I don't have any time for them. And you can write that.
