I was really, really happy that the high school kids got back their stuff. We started later in the year but something is better than nothing. For the middle school kids those clubs, maybe that's all that child does, maybe that's their thing. Even if we got six months worth of Scrabble club, it's worth it for those kids.

As I got further involved I really, thankfully, saw the global picture of how important the scrabble club or photography club is to so many kids who probably wouldn't be doing anything else. I had a good committee with me, a good group of volunteers and through talking to each other we ultimately arrived in the same place of what was good for the district.

I do love that high school group. They're willing to do anything to make it happen and they have such great ideas for fundraising.
