Adversity is only going to make you stronger if you can battle through it. I really thought he had a strong game. You got the feeling he was under control.

We'll continue to play the way we have been, rolling all four lines and keeping the same guys in the lineup. We want to be in a position where we go into the playoffs with a bit of momentum.

We've got certain players that are key players, and they play the least amount of even-strength time, but they play the most amount of special-teams time. Some people may perceive it as he's moved down the ladder, but he's had a good season. He's had his ups and downs. I still think he's progressing as a player. He sees the game a little differently sometimes. Some of the things he tries at this level will work in the American League but won't work here. But if you told me at the beginning of the year he'd finish with 25, 26 goals, I'd be happy.

He's been put on the concussion program again, but the first one was so severe I think the program may go longer. There's no set time on when he can be back or when he can even resume practice. Symptom-free for a week doesn't necessarily mean he can have contact again. That could take weeks.

We're concerned. The first thing is his health.

Maybe another player would have called it a day already, but he worked hard and had no qualms about getting back in there again. Some players, it would be an easy scenario to pull back. He's not that cautious guy.

As a team, there's nights when you need his enthusiasm, you need that desire to go through anybody. His fearless attitude on the ice is something that keeps other teams on their toes. There's nights you just can't have another player do that. He's full bore, straight ahead, and the first guy there when there's trouble for any of his teammates.

I would like to know who the first round opponent is, but I really have no preference. We can't control any of that. What I'd love is to narrow it down to one or two possibilities so we can bear down and study those teams.
