The club currently has 52 members from all over central Wisconsin, but most are from the Stevens Point and Wisconsin Rapids areas. Members are known as 'family members' emphasizing the aspect of this being a family hobby.

Back in the 1960s, one of the members bought some land there and wanted to sell 10 acres to the club for a clubhouse and shelter, and so it came about.

I am not 100 percent sure, but we think that our club facilities are the only ones like it in the United States.
