Iraqis cannot understand how Saddam has been held for nearly two years without trial. There's plenty, plenty of evidence. What's the holdup? People find it unacceptable.

We know that there is a level of polarization. Iraq is one big family, and we know that if a part of the family is not happy we cannot live in the same house.

We know well that either way, if it is a 'yes' or a 'no,' it is going to be a tough outcome that we need to handle.

The reason why the country is in such a mess is because one man stole the will of 27 million people for 35 years, and pushed them into wars and misery.

The Arab League has good connections to many parties in Iraq and can use these parties' offices and power to back up the political process. These horizons are welcomed and will witness real support from the Iraqi government.

We condemn this killing, which does not serve the interests of the trial or of the political process. We do not know who was behind this operation. Is it designed to hinder the trial process of is it a case of a vendetta? We don't know.

The government will not interfere in the judiciary process, but its duty is to provide these trials in order to provide justice for the people. We will not transfer the trial outside Iraq because all the resources are here. We want the people to sense justice.

We have a policy to go after Iraqi funds whether they were abused by members of the former government or spent by international bodies.

Whether we will succeed in getting it back, we don't now. There's a will to pursue this money.

I'm sure once we have an elected assembly and a government for a four-year term, they'll be looking at all these issues.
