Bill just loved being on the radio.

It's a devastating thing. It's almost hard to believe. It's pretty sad. He just meant so much - a true icon, a renaissance man, a one-in-a-million kind of a character, and I mean that in a positive way. He was one of a kind.

There is nobody better at, or better-prepared for, what he does than Bill King. He's the gold standard.

Steve was right in it until the very end. As good as I feel for Vince, I feel disappointed for Steve.

I think he was the greatest sportscaster who ever lived. I try to put it into words, and I don't know how this even sounds, but I liked myself when I worked with Bill. He was one of the last of the colorful characters, a one-in-a-million kind of character. There's no chance there will ever be anybody like Bill.

I think he was just a member of the family for almost 50 years in the Bay Area. He was the greatest sportscaster I ever heard. He brought an immense amount of passion and dedication to every broadcast and touched so many people. They remember certain times in their lives because of him. For over 50 years, he was a constant in people's lives.

Bill was very gracious from the first day we worked together. Very generous ... very, very accommodating. His endorsement of me meant everything to me.

I think it will be very emotional. Especially when we unveil (a permanent tribute above the broadcast booth).
