Parents want one kid in one room and do it without a whole lot of thought about it. Giving them their own room means you're a good provider, doing a good job; you ought to do it. But that's parental satisfaction. The privacy might be good for the parent but maybe not so good for the kid. It's something they should think about.

Benefits of single rooms? Nothing comes to mind. There are positive benefits in a shared room, but in terms of being independent, there isn't anything of value, any skill development that I can see.

I think one or two years age difference is fine, three years is begging the question, and four is not a good idea. There's a big difference between a 12-year-old and a 16-year-old. If you have the space to do it, it's best to give them their own rooms.

That sounds insane to me. Why animals go with wine, I don't know. The average consumer can't tell one wine from another, did you know that?
