There's no doubt Bobby Bowden brought it to the league. He brought it to the entire country.

He needs to have a really good year, ... and of course, he's off to a bad start.

That's what you look for in a running back, ... He doesn't look really big. He's 185 pounds right now. If he stays on course, he could have a great career here as a running back.

In the spring we added things to our defense. That was multitasking,

You need to recognize that you're not going to win in this conference if you don't have speed. So you better get it.

I'll never forget the fact that he was in our locker room after that game, ... Never. That's a highlight of my life. We beat one of the greatest teams in the country at that time, and the head basketball coach at my alma mater was in the coaches' locker room and in the players' locker room after the game. It doesn't get any better than that for me.

You think that's consistent?

That's a big number. I'm basically just numb.

I'm really proud of this team because they kept playing. They didn't lose their poise after going down early in the second half. I think that's just a characteristic of our football program.

I really don't know (what happened). I was not down there. So I can't give you any specifics. I'll say this: No games are won or lost in pre-game.

The penalties, I've never seen so many flags fly in a game, ... That was certainly different than what I'm accustomed to being around. Obviously, one was thrown on me, and I'm very ashamed of that.

You know, it makes me laugh because I've got two great kids out there holding and kicking, and I think they went out there and thought they had all day -- like it was in practice, ... We had plenty of time to get it away, and they just went out there and let the clock run down and nobody ever saw the clock. I guess I'll take responsibility for that for not teaching those guys to look at the clock.

Well, our two-game season is over. The opener and the home opener and we're 0-2. That's the bottom line.
