Right now money doesn't matter,

Right now money doesn't matter. Who you are or where you're from doesn't matter. Getting to come out here and give a child a hug or give someone a hug who knows that their house and everything that they have is gone is what's important.

It's devastating to us. I've cried three or four times. Seeing kids without any food, elderly people dying and the government saying that help is on the way -- that's the most shocking part.

I was a little tired today. It was just being off for three days and coming out in full pads and getting your breath back.

Reading the people's lips: 'Where's the food? Where's water?' ... They were there for four days. I mean, drop something out of the sky. Fly helicopters over and drop something, whatever you have to do. That's what killed me, man. I'm cried out. I'm just cried out.

I'm going to try to take some of the resources I have, that I was blessed with, and go to Houston and try to rent some buses and get some vouchers and gift cards to Wal-Mart and see if the Red Cross will let me come to the dome and let some people get on the bus and go buy some stuff at Wal-Mart, some food. And I'm going to try to go to the hotels and see if someone needs me. . . . They can hear professional athletes talking. [But] until they see you eyeball to eyeball trying to help their family, it doesn't matter.

We can't roll our football helmets on the field and expect that because Katrina came through a part of Louisiana that people will feel sorry for us and let us win. I'm not going to run around trying to catch a pass and not expect (Carolina defensive end) Julius Peppers to try to knock my helmet off.

I'm sure there are a lot of people 15 or 20 miles from here who would love to have a home and see their little brother walk through the door,

What the New Orleans Saints are going through is a cakewalk. You won't hear anybody complaining about how I don't have this or that. Who gives a damn? We are blessed to have the job that we have.

I would love to get in the hot tub right now and get in the cold tub and get my legs back, ... But I'm sure there's a lot of people that would love to have their homes. I don't expect on Sunday for the Carolina Panthers to feel sorry for us. In their heart, I'm sure they will. But once that clock starts, I'm not going to run around and catch a ball and not expect Julius Peppers to knock my head off.

Right now, I'm fine with that, because most of the fans are here in Texas. I wouldn't want to (move permanently to San Antonio), of course not. I like Louisiana. But Mr. Benson has to do what Mr. Benson has to do.
