Phoenix is tough. Their record doesn't show that, but that doesn't mean a thing in our league. They're solid; they play good defense, pitch it pretty well, and we're going to have to go out and play well - just like every other series we play.

It was raining pretty hard over there.

We went out there and played good baseball, and we did some of the things we were supposed to do. Either team could've won that game. Unfortunately, it just didn't work out for us.

I think the thing that made a difference for him today, especially late in the game, was his ability to throw the ball inside. He hadn't been able to do that lately. Today, he was able to throw some balls inside to keep them from leaning over the plate looking for a breaking ball or hitting it the other way.

Instead of dealing with just one run or one pitch at a time, I think we're looking at three runs and thinking, 'Oh my gosh, if we don't come back and do something right away, it seems it's going to be an even bigger mountain for us to get over.' We've got to get over that.

I was really impressed with the way we got emotionally excited in the second game. We got a little mad. I've been looking for us to get mad when we're not playing well or not doing some things. We flat out got mad, and we got determined to see what we could do to win this ballgame. I was really proud of them for showing that.

The second game just kind of got away from us early, and we weren't able to get back into it.

Things that were a little easier to do at one point aren't as easy to do right now because we're struggling a little bit.

This was setting up to be a really wet system. Now there are indications that it won't be quite as significant.

That's kind of an anything-can-happen kind of forecast. There is a chance for rain pretty much throughout the week.

They did an OK job of keeping (Western) off balance. It wasn't their best stuff, but we simply didn't score enough runs.

We just have to keep getting after it. We need to stay positive and, eventually, things will happen in our favor.

I thought we did well against a good pitching performance by them. We just made some mistakes, and when you make mistakes in a close game, it ends up hurting you.

You commit two unearned runs and lose by one - you can do the math on that one.

Some of the errors might have been simple things like a passed ball, a missed ball in the outfield and things like that. It was the ensuing plays that resulted in them scoring their runs.
