They have the best bullpen. I don't necessarily think at the end - ours is as good as any, because we've got Mariano, and there's nobody better in postseason play - but just some of those latter guys they have are pretty good. You know that sooner or later, you're going to stop scoring runs.

It helps that pretty much every guy on this team has postseason experience. We're a pretty even-keel bunch of guys. Even when they took the lead, nobody panicked.

He was unbelievable. He gave us the start we needed. (John) Lackey was pitching great and Shawn matched him zero for zero. Johnny is a good friend and a great guy to have in the clubhouse. I am very excited about having him as a teammate again.

Every New Yorker, they love to see somebody face adversity and still stand tall and not fall by the wayside. They like to see you man up and you take your beating, but you just keep going and ticking and keep working hard. And they love those stories. It's a tough town here, it really is, and a lot of players fall by the wayside out here.

I feel great. I'm ready to go. Last year, before the season started, I missed a couple of months just trying to get healthy, so it's been exciting to start from Day 1 like I've normally done, training and working out.

There's nothing more special than seeing excitement on a child's face.

New York is home to me now. [I wanted] to get a chance to walk through that room and see the kids get a chance to get away from the doctors, play and be with their families in an environment where they have fun.

There was one kid telling me he was going through all his medications and he couldn't wait to go down and play video games. It definitely gives them something to look forward to.

He's witty and quick, and Johnny has a lot of fun. He'll be a good mix with the guys.

Everybody sees Johnny Damon for long hair and the beard, but he's a great, great teammate. He's fun to play with. He'll be fun for this team. I think they'll really enjoy having Johnny around.

I think it's going to be a little bit easier for Johnny. He's coming over from Boston. I think he has already been through it. He's not going to have the deer in the headlights (look), where I came over from Oakland and the media outweighs the players.

That kid is going to be good; he reminds me of Rocket. He's young, but that fastball, it's late. I don't care what the radar gun says, it seems like it's on top of you. He's got good stuff.

Coming from Boston, one thing you know about Johnny is that he's not going to be intimidated in New York. He knows what pressure is and he's not going to let it change him.
