After three years of not winning many games or going to the playoffs (with the Houston Texans), I wanted to come to a team that was winning. I believe I can help them get to that next level.

We wanted to get one for him. But more than anything, we just hope he comes back healthy.

It takes awhile. Until you've gone through a lot of different situations, like when you need a fourth quarter-stop, the goal line [stand] ... I mean, you really don't know how people are going to react. So to really be a good defense it's going to take a year or two.

The main thing is to make sure guys know what they're doing. Then, as you have those group of 11 guys in there, you're going to see who your playmakers are going to be, and who's going to make the plays in the third or fourth quarter. I'd rather have injuries early in the season than late in the season because it helps us with our depth. If we can get a victory here or there with some second-string guys, by the end of the season, we'll have more depth going into the playoffs.

When he first got down there, he was 'The Golden Child.' Everyone loved him, ... He had his whole family down at practice every day. It was like his father had stock in the team. David could do a little more than anyone else could do, because he was the franchise guy.

But I hope I hit him 10 times this week.
