We were investigating that yesterday afternoon when a 19-year-old white female came in - she was one of the witnesses - and basically said our suspect, Michael Evans, shot (Price) and wiped the gun clean. The witness came forward on her own after being threatened by the suspect.

Price and Evans lived in the same place. They were described as friends. At this point, we don't know why he shot his roommate.

This might be a good reminder to merchants and individuals, before you accept tender, make sure to look at it to make sure it's legitimate. A lot of times (counterfeit money) has a different feel to it.

Generally it is our practice to contact the Secret Service to make them aware of a counterfeit situation.

We won't release the (name of the) church because it would identify her.

There has been a history of neo-Nazi activity in the neighborhood, but no clear evidence this is related to the stabbing.

He was the youth leader at the church. She was in his group.

They apparently developed a relationship. He was a youth advisor in his church group and apparently that's how the two got together.

Some of the evidence we collected at the (stabbing) scene did lead up to the trailer where we served the search warrant this afternoon. Fortunately, it ended peacefully.

He's certainly somebody that we're interested in talking to and interviewing.

He thought that was the best course of action to take without injuring himself or the other individual.

The victim and the suspect did not know each other. The victim was in the wrong place at the wrong time.

You have to ask Mario Vasquez why he shot him.

We're just continuing to look into it to see if a crime occurred. Part of the investigation is centering on the condition of the victim.

The crime was not reported until Tuesday when the victim/girlfriend was able to escape her attacker and seek medical treatment. The victim was shot in two fingers on her left hand as she lay in bed. The bullet hit her hand, which was by her head at the time.
