Let's face it: We were lucky, lucky, lucky to be down by one touchdown in the first half. In the first half, we were embarrassed.

Let's not kid ourselves. USC has great players and is very well coached. If you're realistic about it, there's a fine line of about 5-10 schools where the recruiting is just on a different level from the rest of us. USC is one of those schools. But to have a chance at winning three straight national championships . . . I'll tell you what – the quarterback has a lot to do with that.

You know injuries are coming. You're always going to have ankles or quads. When a guy is going to miss a couple of days, we have the depth to plug a guy in and not miss a beat. I've been on teams before if a certain guy was out, you had to change everything around. For us, the next guy steps up.

There's no right or wrong. A lot of guys are looking for a rah-rah guy, especially if he can back it up. So far, Sam can back it up.

With all due respect, I don't wish a disaster on anybody. I guess that is a possibility (to play at ASU this year). We don't know if they would be able to travel. I don't know. I can't do anything about it, and it's our second game anyway, not our first. I've got to worry about Temple right now.

That's all Bill Miller. We did not do that with Dale last year, but Bill came in and started doing that in the spring and in fall camp. Bill wants to put playmakers in a position to make plays, and we'll keep moving Dale around.

Mike is a little guy, about 285 pounds, and Leo is about 355 pounds. Leo has really improved. He lends himself more to the power aspect, and Mike lends himself to the mobile aspect.

It wasn't Chris MacDonald's fault. If he gets two more steps around the corner, he gets a first down and the special teams coach is a hero.

We can't finish 114th out of 117 teams and go where we want to go. Hopefully it's better than last year - we can't be much worse.

We have a good team, and they're the national champs. It should be a fun week. We should enjoy it.

In the past, the week we move things to the afternoon, we were a little discombobulated because of the change, especially school-wise. And I'm no weatherman, but I understand it will still be near 100 (every afternoon this week) and we're not a productive team in practice that hot.

They really don't have a weakness.

We've reviewed that film. We stunk it up last year.

For some players, that works great. For some, it's getting our butts kicked (45-7 at USC last year). For Sam (Keller), it's about how we execute.
